A pathway to resilience amid crisis

Energy System Integration: Opportunities, challenges, barriers, and recommendations for policymakers

As Europe grapples with the dual challenge of an industrial crisis and the fallout from rising geopolitical tensions worldwide, including the war in Iran, the need for robust energy policies has never been more urgent. Our new Commentary on Energy System Integration offers evidence-based insights into how integrating electricity, heat, and green gases across industry, buildings and transport (with onsite production, storage and digitalisation) helps reduce dependencies, keep energy prices in check, and bolster industrial competitiveness.

With debates in Europe intensifying over how to mitigate the impact of soaring energy prices, affordability, security and investment priorities, the Commentary provides a timely roadmap for action. Join us to explore how best to navigate energy policies in these turbulent times.
